The book maker for independent creators
Build a world. Fill it with books.
Create your cast & world once, then turn story after story into illustrated books that share the same look and the same characters. You write the pages; we handle the drawing.
No credit card, no demo to sit through. Just a note from us when it’s ready.
Starting over on every page? Yeah, we hated that too.
Making a book one page at a time wears you down. You describe your hero, get a page, then describe her all over again for the next, hoping she still looks like herself. Page by page, the story you cared about quietly turns into a stitching job. And nobody had built a tool for the thing you’re actually making.
A book.
What if your characters just stayed?
What if you never typed a style word again?
What if your second book was easier than your first?
That’s the whole idea. Not a feature we bolted on, the reason we exist.
Three things we got stubborn about
You author. The AI illustrates.
Every page is yours to edit, reword, or illustrate again until it’s right. You drive; the drawing gets handled. What you walk away with is a book you own, start to finish.
A cast that never resets.
Your characters, settings & props all live in one Showbook, and they load into every page automatically. No re-describing your hero halfway through. No wait, why does she look different between spreads.
Book two beats book one.
Your first one might eat a weekend. The next comes faster, because the cast & world you already built just carry forward. You stop setting up and start telling the story.
The compounding part
Your books get easier to make the more you make.
Here’s the part nobody warns you about: the hard work is the setup, building the cast & world. Once they exist, the job quietly changes. It stops being production and starts being storytelling.
By your second or third book, the bottleneck isn’t the tool anymore. It’s deciding what happens next.
Done? Take it anywhere.
When the book’s finished, you choose where it goes: a print-ready PDF for KDP & print-on-demand, an EPUB for the ebook stores, or image posts for Instagram & Facebook.
And if you ever want to, you can turn a book into a shareable Reel too. Same cast, no extra work.
We do one thing. We do it better than anyone.
Not stock art. Not one-off images. Not everything for everyone. Illustrated books with a cast that stays consistent, that’s it. Keeping one character looking like herself across a dozen poses & expressions is the hardest problem in AI illustration, and rather than dodge it, we pointed the entire product at it.
In case you were wondering
What we’re not
Yours to direct. Nothing important hides behind a single prompt. You choose the look, edit any page, and illustrate it again until it’s right. The author’s seat stays yours.
Built around the book. Not a blank canvas, not a feed of one-off images. Every screen assumes you’re making a book, with a cast that carries from page to page.
Not built for studios. No pipelines, no seat licenses, no onboarding call. Storybench is for one person (or two) making a book they actually care about.
Who’s on the other end
We’re a small team, and we read every email that comes in (the real ones, written by us, not a ticket bot). If something’s broken, you’ll hear back from a person who can fix it. If you’ve got an idea, it lands on the same desk where the product gets built.
We’d rather earn one author who finishes ten books than chase a thousand who never finish the first. Quietly, that’s the whole plan.
Questions you’re probably about to ask
What is Storybench, in one breath?
What makes Storybench different?
Do I need to know how to draw?
What can I publish?
What’s it going to cost?
Is it ready right now?
