Print-on-demand services like Amazon KDP and Lulu turn your files into real, printed books that ship to readers. Storybench helps you get there, and it is honest about how: this is a guided, hands-on handoff, not an automatic upload.
How the handoff works
You do the final step yourself, and that is by design. In short:
- Export your files. Your print PDF and your cover-wrap PDF, from the export screen.
- Fill in your details. Author, publisher, ISBNs, and subjects, from book details and ISBN.
- Upload to the store. You sign in to KDP or Lulu (your own account) and upload the files there, following their steps.
- Track where it stands. Back in Storybench, you can note and follow the status of your handoff, so you always know which books you have sent off and where each one is.
Why it is manual, not automatic
There is no automatic submission to a store from Storybench. Publishing to KDP or Lulu means agreeing to their terms, setting your own price, and taking your own royalties, all things that belong to you and your account, not ours. So we prepare everything to be upload-ready and guide you through it, and you press the final button. It keeps you in control of your book and your money.
Which shapes go where
Most page shapes are accepted widely. One thing to know: very wide books can exceed some services' print-width limits, so the widest landscape shape may suit one service better than another. If you are aiming at a specific store, it is worth checking their size list, and choosing your page shape with that in mind from the start.
