Storybench

What Storybench is, and the pieces you will use

Storybench has only a few moving parts. Once these click into place, the rest feels obvious.

The World

A World is the home for one story universe. It holds the things every book will reuse (your characters, your places, your recurring objects) and it fixes the single look and feeling that all your books will share. Think of it as the shelf a whole family of books lives on.

A World home: your cast, settings, and props, all in one place, ready for every book.

Cast, settings, and props

Inside a World you build three kinds of reusable ingredients. Your cast is the characters. Your settings are the places. Your props are the objects that appear again and again. Each one carries reference pictures, so it looks the same wherever it appears.

The World

The World is the quiet magic underneath it all. It is the bundle of your cast, settings, props, tone, and visual style that gets loaded into every illustration for you, automatically. You never re-describe your hero and you never type a style word, because the World already knows them by heart.

Your book

A book is made of pages, which you can group into chapters if you like. Each page holds your words and one illustration. You write the story. The picture inherits the World's cast and look every single time.
